Commencement Speakers for 2008

Dear seniors,

Although I could listen to all 13 of you on graduation night, there is a limited time reserved for the infamous graduation speeches. First let me say that by overwhelming agreement, your class was represented well this afternoon. It doesn’t surprise me, though. After the judges tallied their scores the top three speakers were chosen. There will be three speakers and one who will welcome our guests. Natasha Rogers will be the first speaker. Dung Dang will present second; third will be Jessica Hawley. Because she is senior council president and a traditional part of graduation, Norma Lopez will welcome guests and begin the ceremony. The three commencement speakers need to meet with Mrs. Dewitt in the coming days to set up practice times with her. Also, I will meet with all of you to prepare your speech for commencement. You will be required to stay after the commencement rehearsal on May 29th in order to practice with the microphone.
Because the speeches were all great, I am requesting that Kenny Flannagan deliver his speech at the senior banquet on May 20th. I am printing a portion of Carlos Ceron’s speech in the Baccalaureate program. Also, I am planning to print a portion of Jane Van’s speech in the program for commencement. I will contact you to let you know what I need from you. Lastly, I would like Amber Bell to deliver her speech at the academic celebration at school on May 20th for the student body. In the meantime, feel proud of the work you have accomplished and know that the year is drawing near; savor these precious times. I am proud of you.
