at the park

Well, I guess the only good thing about all this rain, is the green everywhere. I was struck by this photo of the kids and how green the grass looks. We ate a picnic courtesy of Chic-fil-a and then played out there for as long as the humidty would allow then we toured the new nature center, what a great place. The kids even made t.v. Channel five was out there filming for an outdoors special to air this Saturday or next. Addy was quite amused by the turtle's lunch>milkworms! yuck. Both she and Bennett just had to participate and feed the turtles. Bennett and I are making plans to go back and rent the canoe's! I have to post too, the picture of Bryant in black and white, love it!

Lovin' the 30's

Simply enough Happy Birthday Melissa. There are not very many of us left in the 20's, maybe just Jennifer, Rachel, and Shelley? Well, your time will come soon enough, so enjoy. You know maybe a more appropriate title would be Women of Faith, so we don't have Lucy Swindoll or that short lil cute one, I've forgotten her name, but we have some humdinger (is that a word?) stories, don't we? We really could go on tour, free admission of course, that's the only way people would show up, huh. It was great to visit with everybody tonight. So thanks Emily for hosting us and have a great day Monday, Melissa. I'll upload a slide show tomorrow, I got a few good shots.

Bennett's birthday

At least we took a photo at the Alma Water Park! We started with his party on Wednesday but there was a storm, so we rescheduled for Friday and low and behold another thunderstorm came up and rained us out then, too. Thank goodness for friends; since we were rained out at Alma, Sherri said we could go swim at her house (where it wasn't raining!) The kids had a good time even though there were no big fun slides to slip down! We'll try again soon-the water park gave me a voucher so we'll have to get the kids back together again, soon. thanks to all the friends who came and helped Bennett celebrate his 7th birthday. He had a great time with you all.

Father's Day

What a great Saturday we had, before coming home to the Fort, we had a picnic with our extended family from LR. Greg's family traveled home from Disney and it was fun hearing about all their adventures. We left everyone swimming in the new pool, I'm glad we snapped this shot before we ended our great vacation. I hate I can't be there Sunday, but today was great! love ya Daddy. Just because you're Daddy!

Doug and I had lunch with his dad, Papa! The day wasn't too hot, so the kiddos played outside, wishing they had water to reel some fish in with their poles.

pure joy!

Mom and Dad bought a new home over two years ago. Last summer, at the back of their property, Bennett found blackberries growing like crazy. Grandaddy thought he had cut down all the thorny bushes in the back during the winter, but to our surprise this week, the blackberries had survived. We picked so many Grammy made a blackberry cobbler that was delicious by the way. I just loved capturing these shots of my dad and my son.

Orange Beach 07

We enjoyed four days at the beach with both sides of our family. We had fun going between pool and beach and the cousins all got along so well. It was a priceless vacation. One I'll not forget for a long time. I got to visit with some extended family that I haven't seen in over two years which was a bonus. After the beach, Doug, the kids and I spent the rest of the week with mom and dad.

photoshop stuff

Here's some sketches I worked on today. By now, you've noticed my template change, but it is a work in progress. If you guys care to comment, let me know what you think. I'm going to use one of my own sketches for my blog template. I'm not set on anything yet, these are my first few, but I would love some feedback. Thanks to Tommy for showing me a great site to download these endless brushes. It should keep be busy for a while. I'm trying to get a blog up and running for my somewhat photography business. I'm not going whole hog, but I do want those who I photograph to have a place to go to view their session.

Celebrating 10 Happy Years

Well, yesterday Doug and I celebrated our first ten years of marriage. We have done a bunch of updating with the house, so as far as gifts we went really low key, but very sentimental. Doug had my ring engraved which was totally unexpected. I had both of our rings in my possession prior to our wedding, so he didn't have the chance to engrave anything then. So yesterday, I was surprised to see his thoughtfulness. I gave him a clock/globe that was for his new office. We have been extremely busy this week with his move and me with graduation. But, thanks to Doug and Delbra for keeping the kids last night, we spent an evening dining out! I just simply love him and the blessings God continues to bestow on me is far more than I could ever comprehend! These next ten years will, not only bring one teenager, but two and, at that, we will have two teen drivers, scary enough! I can't wait. I think that is my theme for life. Though I am content, I always see the future as new and exciting and I'm glad God's given me that type personality! I am so grateful to Doug for his patience and devotion to me, our family and to God.
