Just How Much Can You Read?

Seniors:By now, you know I expect you to read and read A LOT over the next few months. Which book will you check out first and why?

For those of you who are not in my class, what book are you reading right now? I am usually reading Christian fiction or something I think my students will enjoy.... I am always up for something new so please share author and title. This week I am reading a book titled, Fire From the Rock, by Sharon Draper. Everything she writes is relevant to teens today. Next up is the Jay Asher book, 13 reasons why, I've heard I will need some kleenex to get through that one. I am not a fan of sad stories, but everyone that reads it says it is a must read for teachers.

Oh, and just how many of you out there are hooked on the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyers? If you don't know about it, google it, it may not be a "Harry Potter," but it has taken the students and teachers by storm at Northside.

I think i will read a scary novel of some sort. I always enjoy a good horror story. I have always been interested in ghosts and what not, so that may be a good choice for me.

I believe i would check out "Thirteen Reasons WHY". While you where doing the book talk it really caught my attention. I would LOVE to read it and find out what the people did to her or say to that girl to lead her to commit suicide. I feel that if i try to read that book i will be attached to it until i get to the END! :)

The first book I would read from these six would be the Twilight series. My sister has read and has the entire series and wants me to read it, so one day I will eventually read this series... after I finish the Left Behind series that is.

I'm not much of a reader so I don't know what I want to read, yet. Everyone is talking about reading the book, Thirteen Reasons Why, so maybe I'll read that. If not, maybe a book you talked about in class, they all seemed very interesting.

Hi Mrs. Hasley,

Well usually I would not read anthing at school. Just because it is not one of my hobbies. However, I most recently checked out this wonderful book from your class titled; "Who Am I Without Him?", and that started a whole new world and view of reading for me. It is a wonderful book with a colorful cover which is what caught my eyes. I plan on reading more books like that one.

The book that i think that I am going to checkout first is "Night by Elie Weisly". The Reason why i wanna get that book is because we read it in class last year and I never really pade attention in class but one day i did and it seemed pretty interesting to me. So i now i want to check it out and read it myself to finish the book.

I tend to read a lot, but it has been diminished ever since i quit reading fiction books. Now i read only nonfiction unless told otherwise. It is slightly boring, but that style of writing is now almost common place now.
