God's great gifts; friendship and babies

The greatest gift in life is a child. My dear friends are in the process of adopting. Being bathed in love, prayer and support, we realize God's blessing on this couple already. We also know that our Heavenly Father already has the special little one picked out and putting things in order so that he or she will quickly find himself in a sweet little bed on N street in Fort Smith, AR. It was my pleasure to photograph them to complete their papers. The best is yet to come!

It is so fun to capture pure innocence. Thanks Melissa for letting me photograph these precious little boys!

About procrastinating!

Just what have you orchestrated for the multi-media component of the memory book? Give me some of your ideas on your project. Reminder that one of the chapters in your senior memory book requires a three-five minute multi-media presentation. The presentations can be with video of a loved one, or a movie that you create with friends, a special song(s) along with pictures from the year using movie maker, etc. If you need equipment please make arrangements now.

Senior class of 2007

Dear seniors,

Although I could listen to all 17 of you on graduation night, there is a limited time reserved for the infamous graduation speeches. First let me say that by overwhelming agreement, your class was represented well this afternoon. It doesn’t surprise me, though. After the judges tallied their scores the top four speakers were chosen. There will be four speakers and one who will welcome our guests. Meghann LaBourn will be the first speaker. Lam Pham will present second; third will be Dixie Robinson and fourth is Matt Kaundart. Because she is senior council president and a traditional part of graduation, Chelsea Mays will welcome guests and begin the ceremony. The four commencement speakers need to meet with Mrs. Dewitt in the coming days to set up practice times with her. Also, I will meet with all of you to prepare your speech for commencement. You will be required to stay after the commencement rehearsal on June 1 in order to practice with the microphone.
Because the speeches were all great, I am requesting that both Katie Rogers and Wesley Gunselman deliver their speeches at the senior banquet on May 15th. I am printing a portion of Arika Smith’s speech in the Baccalaureate program. Also, I need both Shaquana and Arika to pray and read a scripture at the Baccalaureate service on May 6th. I will visit with you two girls next week regarding your responsibilities.
Also, I am planning to print a portion of Kristin Kelley’s speech in the program for commencement. I will contact you to let you know what I need from you. In the meantime, feel proud of the work you have accomplished and know that the year is drawing near; savor these precious times. I am proud of you.

To Die or Not to Die

In reading The Bet, discuss your thoughts on the following questions: provide plenty of insight and reasoning.

1) What did the young lawyer gain by sacrificing his time?

2) What is your view of captial punishment?

Dying Young

#1 Describe Keats' tone in "When I have fears." Do you think the tone is constant or does it change? Explain.

#2 Compare and Contrast the poem below and the one we read in class. Mention three similarities and three differences

The human seasons
FOUR Seasons fill the measure of the year;
There are four seasons in the mind of man:
He has his lusty Spring, when fancy clear Takes in all beauty with an easy span:
He has his Summer, when luxuriouslySpring’s honey’d cud of youthful thought he loves To ruminate, and by such dreaming high Is nearest unto heaven:
quiet coves His soul has in its Autumn, when his wings He furleth close;
contented so to lookOn mists in idleness—to let fair things Pass by unheeded as a threshold brook. He has his Winter too of pale misfeature, Or else he would forego his mortal nature.
