From the Parson to the Reeve, all the characters in this prologue present similarities to our lives today. Which character can you relate to the most and why? Feel free to comment on other students' responses.

Okay, so I wanted to comment, but sheesh...it's been so long since I've read the Tales. I'd have to say first impulse would be likening me to the Wife of Bath, not so much the wordly side, though I have traveled the world, but for life experience and a great pair of shoes. She was a lady dressed to the nines, and I like that! Hope your students really learn to appreciate literature!

I feel most like the plowman just like Toby. I feel this way because i put all of my hard work in basketball and now its paying off. So if i work this hard in college then the sky is the limit for what will happen nex.

I would have to say I'm like the manciple because he's not really smart but he's really wise like me.

I think I'm more like the Manciple, not so much for the illiterate part, but I know how to use my head, and I know right from wrong.

In all the characters in the stories I think my life most relates to the nun. I am very materialistic just like her and I try to be as good mannered as I can. The only difference between us is that she like dogs and I despise animals. I don't like being around any animals. So you can classify me as sort of a nun but not so religious.

I think I'm most like the cleric, cause I'd rather have a book and learn stuff than go and buy something. Usually that's why I'm broke hahaha. Alex Whitaker

The charactors in "The Canterbury Tales" that i can relate to is The Oxford Cleric. For example i'm a student that is willing to do and chase after my dreams. Oxford is a student of a Knight that is so hornor for he's family.

I feel I am mostly similar to the cook in the way of providing with whatever is possible for others. We are resourceful and caring for others' needs.
