Senior class of 2007

Dear seniors,

Although I could listen to all 17 of you on graduation night, there is a limited time reserved for the infamous graduation speeches. First let me say that by overwhelming agreement, your class was represented well this afternoon. It doesn’t surprise me, though. After the judges tallied their scores the top four speakers were chosen. There will be four speakers and one who will welcome our guests. Meghann LaBourn will be the first speaker. Lam Pham will present second; third will be Dixie Robinson and fourth is Matt Kaundart. Because she is senior council president and a traditional part of graduation, Chelsea Mays will welcome guests and begin the ceremony. The four commencement speakers need to meet with Mrs. Dewitt in the coming days to set up practice times with her. Also, I will meet with all of you to prepare your speech for commencement. You will be required to stay after the commencement rehearsal on June 1 in order to practice with the microphone.
Because the speeches were all great, I am requesting that both Katie Rogers and Wesley Gunselman deliver their speeches at the senior banquet on May 15th. I am printing a portion of Arika Smith’s speech in the Baccalaureate program. Also, I need both Shaquana and Arika to pray and read a scripture at the Baccalaureate service on May 6th. I will visit with you two girls next week regarding your responsibilities.
Also, I am planning to print a portion of Kristin Kelley’s speech in the program for commencement. I will contact you to let you know what I need from you. In the meantime, feel proud of the work you have accomplished and know that the year is drawing near; savor these precious times. I am proud of you.
